"Scared"

Arachnophobes are afraid of spiders like he was terrified of the darkness of the night

He was a little mouse hiding from his predators

He put himself in the farthest corner of the bed under the covers

Heart beating fast, body shaking, and desperately waiting for the sun to rise

His blanket was his protector, keeping him safe from whatever lurked at night

He felt like the sun would never rise again

He didn’t know exactly what was out there but he knew there was something because of the scary sounds

The thumps and creeks of the night drove him to many sleepless nights

Terrified of what might jump out of his closet or creep out from under his bed

But he tried thinking about the morning and how it would soon save him from these monsters in his room

  1. i like this poem because it makes me laugh. It makes me think of when i was alittle kid and a little creek coming from your closet meant there were monsters in there.
